I am wanting information regarding the drinking Artillery Port. I was a member of 22d Battery during the mid to late 80's. Either at a formal dinner or at the bar, when Artillery Port was drank, the bottle/decanter was not aloud to touch the table when it had been opened until it was finished.
Was this ritual only done in that battery or is it a Artillery Tradition.
If it is a Tradition, can someone tell me how it started, where did it come from and what is the reason for it. I would be very interested to know. Also I would be interested to learn about other Artillery Traditions Please send anwsers to mia@clear.net nz
